A major burglary was reported at the official Patna residence of Jan Shakti Janata Dal (JJD) supremo Tej Pratap Yadav. The elder son of veteran leader Lalu Prasad Yadav approached the Sachivalaya police station late Monday night to personally lodge a First Information Report (FIR). According to the complaint, a massive sum of cash alongside highly valuable electronics and personal jewelry was stolen from his high-security quarters.
The primary accusation has been leveled directly against Yadav’s personal assistant (PA), Motilal Roy. In his detailed FIR, the former Bihar minister specified that approximately ₹20 lakh in cash—which was explicitly kept aside as party funds for organizational work—was missing from his home locker. In addition to the liquid cash, the burglar made off with two tolas of a gold chain, a gold ring, four Sony flash drives, two external hard disks, an iPad, a MacBook, a Lenovo laptop, and four premium iPhone 17 Pro Max smartphones.
Yadav’s official complaint also implicates his driver, Anil Yadav, and another house associate named Vishal, but as eyewitnesses rather than co-conspirators. The FIR notes that around 11:30 PM on the night of June 22, both Anil and Vishal personally witnessed the accused PA, Motilal Roy, scaling the boundary wall of the residential compound while carrying a heavy bag. Yadav expressed deep dismay over the incident, stating that the accused completely breached the immense personal trust placed in him over the years.
